Sydney, the city that has it all! Good weather, modern city centre, amazing beaches, a beautiful harbour, friendly people…
It’s been 10 years already since I last was in Sydney, and coming back after all this time still gave me the “whoua” effect it gave me the first time.
So much time has gone by, and I find it quite amazing how names of places can slowly awaken so many memories… Kings Cross, Darlinghurst road, Bondi Junction, Oxford street, Darling Harbour, Pitt Street…
We spent 6 days in Sydney, more than we intended too. Adriens’ friends who now live here we very generous to lend us their flat while they were on holiday in France. It felt so good to be in a flat, sleep in a real bed, cook in a kitchen, take a real long shower after all the time we spent in our Van in NZ, that we allowed ourselves and extra 2 days of comfort, and also took advantage of a good internet connection to plan the next few months of travel…
In Sydney, we did quite the usual touristic stuff: walking across the Harbour bridge, visiting the Opera House, walking through the botanical garden, taking a ferry to Manly, watching the sunset over the city skyline, walk along the coast from Bondi beach to Watson Bay, have a fish and chips at Doyles…
Sydney left a good first impression on Adrien too and gave us the perfect welcome to Australia!
On our last days, we picked up our vehicle/bed for the month stay. We named it Dingo the Awesome Space Rocket. It is definitely a space rocket compared to the POW, with less comfort, it will do the job!
